Lotus releases their very first SUV, the Lotus Eletre.

And it is not just any SUV. Starting with 600hp it is the very first hyper SUV. Thanks to its electric motors the Eletre can do 0-60 in under 3 seconds! Which makes it one of the fastest SUVs on the market today.

First of all, is it still a Lotus?

We think so, the whole idea of Lotus is fantastic road handling. Because the Eletre is electric, it also has no engine at the front, allowing Lotus to put everything in the centre, making the SUV feel like a mid-engine car. In this way, Lotus can even extend its fame for its fantastic road handling to an SUV. Of course, we will have to test it ourselves first, but it certainly looks promising.

As with the Evija and Emira, the aerodynamics are even more advanced for even better track handling, speed, range and overall efficiency. The air passes not only over the car but also through various ducts and tunnels that also provide a controlled air flow under and over the car. Besides the clever way of weight distribution and airflow, the Eletre is also a 4WD and is packed with technologies such as the Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) system to deliver an autonomous driving capability. In addition, the car rides on 23-inch machine-sharpened, split-finish five-spoke alloys with carbon-fibre inserts to enhance airflow and 10-piston ceramic composite brake calipers. The car comes with four driving modes, which adjust the steering, damper settings, powertrain and throttle response. The modes are Range, Tour, Sport, Off-Road and Individual, and are standard on all versions of the car. For the amazing exterior and interior, we'll let the pictures do the talking!
